The Philippine island of Bantayan is just one hour by ferry from the port of Hagnaya on Cebu. Yet it feels as if it's a million miles away from the chaos and intensity of Metro Manila.
The resort of Santa Fe on Bantayan was the perfect place to unwind for 6 days over New Year.
A simple and uncommercialised Pinoy environment, it gave us the chance to sit back, relax and watch as the locals interacted peacefully and joyfully with each other without any of the modern day trappings of wealth.
