On Sunday 20th January I got up at 4.45am to participate in my first 3 kilometre race along the seafront in Manila. It was a charity run organised by 7-Eleven to celebrate the opening of its 800th store in the Philippines.
There was a huge turnout and I completed the course in around 17 minutes. Time will tell but this will hopefully be the first tiny step of the many that I will need to take in order to try to run a marathon before I'm 50.
